The making of a new church window

Stained Glass WindowFr Tim, Fr Patrick & Brenda Barwick paid a visit to Swansea, South Wales on Monday 19th April, 2010 to see the new memorial window in preparation. The window depicts our Lady of Walsingham and is a reminder of the faithful witness and commitment of Jean Barwick who was associated with Holy Innocents for most of her life.

The cutting of the glass for the window was almost complete and all that remained was the ‘leading’ and final works to finish the process.

The time at the ‘Stained Glass Works’ in Swansea was spent watching how the glass is cut, the lead inserted and the drawing of the features on the face, hands and feet as well as seeing the almost complete design laid out in cut glass.

It was fascinating and impressive to see how Angelo & Judy Camenzuli and John Barker have perfected their craft.

Bishop Peter blessed the window at a special service.
